The ARL-bioMérieux Collaboration
Laying the Brickwork for the Future with ARL
ARL pushes for top-tier lab practices, partnering with bioMérieux to adopt cutting-edge PCR testing for E. coli, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus aureus.
Real-time PCR is a laboratory technique that can take a small portion of target DNA, such as a gene from E. coli, and rapidly copy the DNA. As the DNA is copied, a fluorescent dye binds to the DNA. If there is enough of the replicated DNA present, a fluorescent signal is given off and read. This signal indicates the presence of target DNA.
In the NutraPlexPro assay, DNA from Salmonella species, E. coli, and S. aureus can be detected simultaneously. We will provide more accurate and specific results for Salmonella, E. coli, and S. aureus than traditional culture-based methods. This testing has method compatibility to USP 2022, and has been evaluated by AOAC as a viable method for detecting select pathogens.
